DITP and GIT host a Networking Reception event

to welcome global buyers and exhibitors at the 69th Bangkok Gems

February 21, 2024 - Mr. Phusit Ratanakul Sereroengrit, Director-General of The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), and Mr. Sumed Prasongpongchai, Director of The Gem and Jewelry Institute of Thailand (GIT), hosted a Networking Reception at the 69th Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair on 21 February 2024 at the Plenary Hall, Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. The event attracted enthusiastic participation from Thai jewelry industry entrepreneurs and international organizations.

Mr. Phusit, Director-General of DITP, revealed, "Thailand is a global hub for gem and jewelry trade, and the Bangkok Gems Fair, which has been continuously organized for over 40 years, effectively showcases Thailand's strengths in this regard. The Networking Reception is another significant event fostering networks, strengthening relationships, facilitating trade negotiations between Thai entrepreneurs and international buyers, and reinforcing the standing of Bangkok Gems Fair as a globally renowned jewelry exhibition. Moreover, it provides another opportunity to showcase the potential of the Thai gem and jewelry industry through carefully curated masterpieces."

Mr. Sumed, Director of GIT, stated, "Bangkok Gems Fair is another crucial event eagerly awaited by global buyers. Many of them want to travel to Thailand twice a year to source renowned Thai jewelry known for its beauty and quality and to experience Thai cultural hospitality. In addition to product exhibitions, the 69th Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair featured many other interesting activities, including the “Heirlooms of Elegance” exhibition, which showcases the high jewelry design collaboration between SIRIVANNAVARI by the Creative Director HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya, and Beauty Gems, the New Faces zone, The Jewellers showcase featuring the works of emerging Thai designers, the “RIT-RICH” showcase spotlighting spiritual power jewelry in Thailand, as well as the export clinic conducted by DITP commercial representatives from Thai Trade Centers around the world.
